Dancer Wellness

Hey guys,
So now that we've gotten started on the new piece, I'm really interested in pushing to get the best out of all of you. Before that process can begin, I need you to update me on your injuries and how they affect you. This discussion group is exclusively for those involved in my piece, so feel free to speak freely. I'm thrilled to be working with all of you and can't wait to continue working this weekend.

Heyy. the only injury I have right know is the tendonitis in my left foot...but it's doing a lot better!
I don't really know when it hurts, it usually only gets tired.

Can't wait till Saturday!!!!

Hi sarah. Yeah. the only thing is that i recently had achilles tendonitis and even though im fully back, I sometimes start to feel pain again after a lot of jumping. Hopefully that wont be a problem though. see you on Saturday.

Right now I don't have any injuries at all. The only thing is that my hips and knees pop. But I think that's pretty normal, and it hasn't prevented me from dancing at all. The rest of my body "pops" too, it just must be something in my joints I guess. I can't wait for rehearsal!

Heyy. both of my achilles tendons have been hurting a bit recently, but i've been icing them after class and stretching them a LOT. also, my hips and knees pop and stuff, but it never hurts, and it hasnt effected my dancing at all. can't wait for the next rehearsal!!

sorry im just answering this now. i have tendonitis in both my feet, but mainly my left. Its getting better and it really hasnt bothered me during rehearsal so i dont think it will be a major problem for the piece. I just need to be aware of it and make sure im doing everything i need to do to keep it strong

Hey Sarah,
I know this is way behind when this was asked but...
I think I talked to you about my injuries but mainly:
Funky foot aka the tendons around my 4th metatarsal don't work causing it to pop out of the joint which can get painful...but I've been icing/restricting so its going well
and some minor tendonitis that has gotten a lot better so its really the foot
its pretty unpredictable and theres nothing i can do really but usually in rehearsal its okay

Hi, Sarah. Sorry it took so long for me to answer this. I possibly have achilles tendonitis in my right or both ankles, I have peroneal tendonitis in my right ankle, and my hips click. The peroneal tendonitis isn't really true tendonitis, though. My tendon is too loose or something, so it slips around the bone and gets inflamed. Sometimes lots of jumps or relevés hurt, but it really depends. Rehearsals haven't been bothering me, though. I can't wait to finish the dance!

Hey Sarah,

My knees have been bothering me a bit lately... I've had tendonitis on and off in my knees for the past couple of months. I had it in my ankle previously too but for now my ankle's fine (although I should maybe strengthen it a bit).

Sorry for the delayed response.
